Job summary

Cleburne ISD is seeking a Lifeskills Teacher to provide special education support for students in self-contained or itinerant settings. The teacher will develop and modify curricula, prepare lessons, and implement ARD-driven IEP goals under the supervision of the principal.

The role requires collaboration with families and staff, ongoing assessment of student progress, and effective use of instructional strategies and assistive technology to support each learner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
• Experience with ARD/IEP processes and inclusion strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for assigned students.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies and materials reflecting student learning needs.
• Modify regular curricula as needed to assist students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and plan instructional activities accordingly.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use various instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
