Job summary

Cuero ISD John C French Elementary School in Cuero, Texas is seeking a SPED LifeSkills Aide to assist a special education teacher with instructional and behavioral programs. Immediate start, full-time, nonexempt status.

The role supports reading, writing, and mathematics, supervises students, and helps prepare materials under certified staff supervision. Training and a collaborative school environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires Texas educational aide certification (can be earned after hire).
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Strong communication and ability to work with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under direct supervision of the teacher.
• Work with individuals or small groups and assist in classroom management.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and reports.
• Support substitute teachers and maintain records.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
• Provide personal care as identified in student IEPs.
• Other duties as assigned.
