Job summary

Mesa County Valley School District 51 is seeking a SPED Significant Support Needs LIFE teacher (Temporary) to lead IEP implementation and deliver specially designed instruction for students with severe needs.

Under the supervision of the Building Leader and Director of Special Education, you will collaborate with families, service providers, and paraprofessionals, ensuring compliance and progress toward IEP goals in an inclusionary setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Education Generalist endorsement or equivalent.
QBS certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and implement instructional programs aligned to IEPs and district curriculum.
Provide instruction in whole/group settings to meet diverse needs.
Monitor IEP goals and progress; adjust supports as needed.
Establish a structured learning environment and promote student safety.
Collaborate with families, staff, and outside agencies to support student success.
Provide instructional direction to paraprofessional staff and manage scheduling.
Complete required special education documentation and participate in meetings.
