Qualifications

• Experience developing individual education programs for students with significant cognitive, physical and medical needs.
• Ability to communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians about student needs (ARD/IEP/BIP and progress).
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and structured Lifeskills instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual education programs for Life Skills students.
• Prepare documents and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students in Life Skills or homebound services.
• Complete local, state and federal paperwork for program participation.
• Develop instructional plans to meet essential knowledge and skills for eligible students.
• Consult with OT/PT/VI/AT to provide appropriate education.
• Maintain student data records and progress charts.
• Administer criterion-referenced tests to develop PLAAFP and yearly goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and needs.
• Oversee paraprofessional responsibilities and student care needs (hygiene, nourishment).
• Perform SHARS duties and any other assigned duties.
