Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a SPED Intensive Support Teacher Assistant for EC-5 at Withers Elementary in Dallas, TX. You will assist the classroom teacher with instructional materials, supervision, and student care throughout the day.

The role includes supporting students with physical and developmental needs, managing behavior, and helping with records and reports. A paraprofessional certificate and relevant experience are preferred, with travel within the district required.

Qualifications

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency).
• Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification.
• Six months of knowledge and skills gained through work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth/development and behavior.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist students with disabilities including transferring and personal care.
• Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus and playground.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist with classroom curriculum and instructional exercises.
• Support behavior management and intervene in crises as needed.
