Job summary

Yupiit School District seeks a SPED Intensive Paraprofessional to assist the special education teacher and administrator in operating the program. You will work with a student with disabilities, staying with that student throughout the school day, and support instructional activities.

The role requires collaboration with the SPED team, ability to follow IEP goals, and performance of duties with confidentiality and cross-cultural awareness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; preferred further education.
• Experience in working with exceptional children is desirable.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist SPED teacher with management and education of a child in special education.
• Coordinate curriculum and classroom activities for the assigned student.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction as directed by the SPED teacher.
• Maintain records and submit required reports on schedule.
