Journey Community Schools in Memphis seeks an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and provide a high-quality, personalized education during the school day and after-school program.

You will help implement lesson plans, assess students, and collaborate with staff to improve instructional practices, while supporting families with progress updates and contributing to a culture of high expectations.

Formación

• Associate’s degree or 2 years of college experience.
• 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Support classroom systems and manage student behavior to keep students engaged in learning.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards and JCS guidelines.
• Assess students regularly and analyze assessment data.
• Collaborate with JCS team members to improve instructional practices.
• Provide families with regular updates on classroom activities and student progress.
• Assist with planning differentiated instruction for varied student needs.
• Teach in after-school program focusing on intervention and acceleration.
• Support college-prep culture and work with Academic Counselor on student progress.
• Contribute to Advisory classes to develop student character and habits.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions.
