Journey Community Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and deliver high-quality, personalized education during the school day and after-school programs. The role offers growth toward educator credentials and involves implementing JCS guidelines and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have an interest in education, strong communication skills, and at least an associate degree or two years of college, with a Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
• 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom systems and help manage student behavior for engaged learning.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards and JCS guidelines.
• Assess students and analyze data according to JCS guidelines.
• Collaborate with team to share best instructional practices.
• Provide families with regular progress updates on classroom activities.
• Assist with differentiated instruction and after-school interventions.
• Support advisory classes to develop student character and habits.
