Job summary

Washington County Schools (TN) seeks a SPED Instructional Assistant II to support students with IEPs under licensed teachers, in elementary through high school settings. The role involves direct instructional support, data collection, and collaboration with the IEP team.

You will assist in delivering specialized instruction, monitor student progress, and help implement individualized programs while maintaining a safe learning environment in accordance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of college credit (48 semester credit hours) from an accredited university, or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on the Para-Pro exam.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must have or be willing to obtain De-escalation and Restraint certification.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Assists in maintaining a safe, orderly, and academically focused learning environment.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to support students.
• Assists in implementing IEP objectives and goals under supervision.
• Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information.
