Job summary

Rockford Public School District #205 is seeking a Special Education Building Paraprofessional for a 6.5-hour schedule to support students at Cherry Valley Elementary. Under supervision of teachers, you will assist with educational programs and student needs as directed by building administration.

Position involves supervising students, assisting in classroom activities, and performing clerical and housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good oral, written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom management and instruction, including working with students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students in various school settings and assist with field trips and activities.
• Assist with clerical duties and classroom setup, including preparing materials and maintaining records.
• Support with the implementation of specialized programming and behavior management as directed by teachers.
