Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom management and instruction under supervision.
• Communicate regularly with the teacher regarding daily plans and observations.
• Tutor individuals and work in small groups with students.
• Implement teacher-planned activities and encourage appropriate behavior.
• Assist in behavior management and monitor student progress.
• Accompany and assist mainstreamed students in regular classrooms and supervise students outside the classroom.
• Assist in clerical duties and prepare classroom materials.
• Support with physical needs of students (toileting, dressing, feeding as directed).
• Participate in signing programs and other specialized programming when required.
