Rockford Public School District #205 at Gregory Elementary is seeking a Special Education Building Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year, 6.5 hours per day, under the supervision of the classroom teacher and other special education professionals.

Responsibilities include assisting with educational programs, supporting students, managing classroom activities, and helping with field trips and daily routines. Benefits and a structured work environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good oral, written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom management and instruction.
• Assist with students outside the classroom (supervise during breaks, field trips, and activities).
• Assist in classroom housekeeping and clerical duties (prepare materials, prepare charts, recordkeeping).
• Assist with physical needs of students (toileting, dressing, feeding under supervision).
• Participate in signing programs and other specialized programming when required.
