Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor II for Albany, NY. This casual/PRN role supports second shift operations, preparing specimens and ensuring timely, accurate processing for testing workflows.

You will interact with client offices, troubleshoot issues, and help meet daily production goals. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience; familiarity with MS Office and strong data-entry skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing or warehouse.
• 1 year or more of medical or patient facing healthcare experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Communicate effectively with client office staff.
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated.
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client.

Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor II to join our team in Albany NY.

Work Schedule

This is a casual/PRN position; hours will be 'as needed' for 2nd Shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing or warehouse)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of medical or patient facing healthcare experience

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience with MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range

$17.75 - $19.00 per hour

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
