Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to join our Cincinnati team. The role supports day-to-day operations, guides a processing team, and ensures accurate specimen preparation and routing.

Expect a split shift schedule including 8:00pm–11:00pm with coverage for 1st/3rd shifts and weekends as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years in lab-related roles; associates degree and people leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • 1+ year in a clinical laboratory environment preferred.
  • 1+ year in a people leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the Department Name department.
  • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas.
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management.
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.

Work Schedule: Split shifts ranging from Monday – Friday 8:00pm – 11:00pm; ability to cover 1st and 3rd shift and weekends as needed

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree
  • 1 year or more experience working in a clinical laboratory
  • 1 year or more experience as a people leader
Job Additional Standards:
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

**Pay Range: $19.00- $29.93per hour Eligible for a 2nd shift differential All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Benefits:
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
