Job summary

Labcorp in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team. The role focuses on accessioning and processing clinical specimens in a fast-paced lab environment, with emphasis on accurate data entry and specimen handling.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may involve lifting up to 40lbs, routine data entry, and collaboration with a team to meet production goals. Training is provided for MS Office use and standardized procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Preferred: 1 year or more of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm and Rotating Saturdays 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Role Overview

The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.75 - $19.00 per hour All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
