Job summary

MidAtlantic Women's Care Laboratory is seeking a Specimen Processor - Accessioning to support molecular testing workflows. The role involves accurate specimen receipt, labeling, and triage, along with data entry and coordination of supplies for the lab team.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; strong data entry skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
• 2 years' experience as a lab assistant, specimen processor, or relevant experience in a lab is preferred

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens consistent with testing requirements and identify specimens.
• Identify and label specimens accurately and distribute to testing areas
• Perform clerical and administrative duties
• Organize and monitor lab supplies for inventory levels as directed by leadership
• Communicate specimen non-conformities to staff or leadership
• Clean and maintain work area and lab equipment and supplies
• Follow health and safety regulations when handling specimens
• Comply with chemical hygiene and lab safety procedures
• Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies
• Assist technical staff and leadership with additional duties as needed
