Job summary

Labcorp in Greenville, NC is seeking a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department, ensuring accurate sample receipt and data entry. This role requires strong leadership and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical lab.

The position oversees staff, mentors non-technical personnel, maintains QA records, and coordinates workflow across shifts. A high school diploma and 2+ years in a clinical lab are required, associates degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years or more of relevant experience in clinical laboratory environment.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
• Perform administrative duties as needed

LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to join our team in Greenville, NC.

This position operates on a bi-weekly rotating shift, alternating between day and evening shifts every two weeks; Monday- Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm & 3:30pm- 12:30am &, weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ or more of relevant experience in clinical laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree
• 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience
• 1 year or more of prior distribution experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
