Job summary

Labcorp in Greenville, NC seeks a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department on a bi-weekly rotating shift, Mon-Fri with alternating day/evening hours. Duties include staffing, coaching, workflow monitoring, and process improvements.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma and 2+ years in a clinical laboratory environment; an Associate's degree and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ or more of relevant experience in clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department.
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage.
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed.
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures.
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to join our team in Greenville, NC. This position operates on a bi-weekly rotating shift, alternating between day and evening shifts every two weeks; Monday- Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm & 3:30pm- 12:30am &, weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ or more of relevant experience in clinical laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree
  • 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience
  • 1 year or more of prior distribution experience
Additional Job Standards:
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
