Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC seeks a Laboratory Robotics Operator Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations and ensure staffing and quality measures are met. The role involves coaching staff, coordinating workflows, and maintaining records to support accurate analyses.

The position requires strong supervision, lab operations knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Occasional overtime or shift adjustments may be needed to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing or warehouse experience.
  • Preferred: associate’s degree and Propel experience; clinical laboratory exposure and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the department and ensure coverage.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel in the department.
  • Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate coverage for shifts.
  • Ensure all shifts are properly staffed and maintain staffing levels.
  • Research and resolve production issues; escalate when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain QA records and documents.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports for development.
  • Administer and manage policies and procedures; payroll and personnel files.

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Robotics Operator Supervisor to join our team in Burlington, NC. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:30pm - 8:00am

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day to day operations of the department
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent 3 or more years of experience in laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing or warehouse experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree 6 months or more of experience working in Propel 6 months or more of experience in a clinical laboratory 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team
Additional Job Standards
  • Previous experience using automated equipment
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
  • Strong computer skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
