Job summary

UCI Health, one of California's largest academic health systems, seeks a specimen processing and accessioning technician for the Main Lab in the Central Processing area. You will handle data entry, telephone reception, transport specimens, print and deliver lab reports, and perform quality reviews.

Qualifications

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work weekends, and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Central Processing area of the Main Lab.
• Main duties include computer data entry, telephone reception, transporting specimens and printing/delivering lab reports.
• Reviews lab reports and performs quality review and troubleshooting
