Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our clinical laboratory teams in Burlington, MA. Under supervision, you will accept, process, identify and label specimens, ensure specimen integrity, and assist in maintaining instrumentation and supplies.

The role may involve rotating weekends and holidays to support coverage needs. You will perform phlebotomy training on site and assist with specimen receipt, triage, and basic administrative duties, while adhering to safety,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail needed for specimen prep, labeling, and instrument operation.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Clear verbal and written English communication with medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Label and identify specimens and requisitions; report discrepancies.
• Inventory and restock supplies across lab stations.
• Monitor reagents and order supplies as needed.
• Prepare benches and organize workstations for daily workload.
• Handle infectious waste per safety policy and maintain temperature charts.
• Assist with specimen receipt, triage, and administrative tasks.
