Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Associate to join the patient care team in Beverly, MA. The role covers all aspects of specimen collection, registration, order entry, processing, packaging and transport, with phlebotomy across age groups from neonatal to geriatric.

Responsibilities include quality control, inventory management, and acting as a liaison to ensure patient and customer satisfaction. Weekend/holiday coverage is required as part of a multi-campus rotation.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of approved phlebotomy program required.
• Completion of Phlebotomy Internship preferred.
• 1 Year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize processing and transport of routine and stat specimens.
• Ensure integrity of laboratory specimens and accurate results through quality control.
• Handle specimen identification, collection and labeling according to policies.
• Perform order entry and patient registration accurately in the system.
• Maintain organized records, monitor inventory, and uphold phone etiquette per hospital standards.
