Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA seeks an Anatomic Pathology Lab Assistant for the 12:00 PM–8:30 PM shift. Under supervision, the role accepts, processes, identifies and labels specimens, handles specimens to preserve integrity, and assists with instrument maintenance.

Weekend/holiday coverage may be required. Minimum education is a High School Diploma with 1 year of related lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year related laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to identify and label specimens accurately.
• English communication skills; able to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accept, process, identify and label specimens according to protocol.
• Store and transport specimens to preserve integrity at all times.
• Operate automated instrumentation and assist with related upkeep.
• Prepare benches and organize specimens for testing and triage.
• Maintain proper documentation and quality monitoring records.
• Follow safety policies and dispose of infectious waste per policy.
