Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of computer systems.
• ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Must be willing to handle blood, body fluids and tissue samples.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under stressful situations.
• Demonstrates knowledge /competence of CAP and JCAHO Laboratory patient safety initiatives and applies these to all aspects of diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

• Process patient specimens for the laboratory, including blood, body fluids and tissue samples.
• Perform EPIC registrations and ATLAS registrations for all insurance and patient types.
• Enter data accurately into the laboratory system (Allscripts ALAB).
• Provide face-to-face and telephone customer service to physicians and patients.
• Monitor supplies and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
