United WestLabs is seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our laboratory operations team. The role focuses on accurate receipt, verification, processing, and routing of patient specimens for testing, with strong data entry and communication skills to support healthcare providers and patients.

The position requires handling time-sensitive specimens, maintaining safety and PPE standards, and collaborating across departments to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently process specimen requisitions and ensure patient and billing information are correctly entered into laboratory systems.
• Verify specimens match physician orders and ensure proper labeling and testing requirements.
• Prioritize and process STAT and time-sensitive specimens promptly to support patient care and lab turnaround times.
• Print, organize, and distribute patient charts and related documentation as requested.
• Provide courteous, professional, and timely assistance to internal and external customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, handling specimens and biohazardous materials per policies and PPE requirements.
• Adhere to laboratory quality assurance, confidentiality, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Support billing by organizing requisitions, and perform courier duties and specimen transport when assigned.
• Deliver lab supplies and documentation to designated locations and obtain additional patient or specimen information when needed.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional service.
