Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA is seeking an Outreach Specimen Specialist to support our laboratories with efficient processing of specimens, EPIC and ATLAS registrations, and accurate data entry. This per diem role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle blood, body fluids and tissue samples, perform face-to-face and telephone customer service, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist physicians with test orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ICD-10 and CPT codes knowledge preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Must be willing to handle blood, body fluids and tissue samples.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Process patient specimens including blood, body fluids, and tissue samples.
• Register insurance and patients in EPIC/ATLAS and enter data into Allscripts (ALAB).
• Provide face-to-face and telephone customer service and data entry.
• Monitor supplies and ensure regulatory and accreditation safety compliance.
