Job summary
ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Specification Writer in North Texas to prepare technical door and hardware specifications for commercial buildings. You will work with architectural professionals, leveraging Openings Studio to improve productivity and project management.
Travel to meet customers may be required, with a background in design/engineering and strong communication skills. The role emphasizes accurate specification development, collaboration with architectural reps, and managing bid processes
Qualifications
- College/University degree preferred; related fields encouraged (architectural/engineering/construction).
- 2–3 years industry experience in openings as commercial locksmith or related installation work.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; CRM tools for sales reporting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create, engineer, and produce door and hardware specifications for commercial buildings.
- Collaborate with Architectural Sales Representatives to ensure design requirements are met.
- Prepare technical submittals and manage substitution approvals during bids.
- Leverage Openings Studio to enhance workflow and project management.
