Job summary
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems AB in Dallas seeks a Specification Writer to produce door and hardware specification documents for commercial buildings. You will work with architectural teams to design, specify, and select products that meet security, accessibility, and aesthetics requirements.
You will also manage electrified access control concepts, support submittals, and utilize Salesforce to track projects and deadlines while ensuring code compliance and accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Requires a college/university degree or work experience commensurate with a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of industry-related experience with openings as a commercial locksmith or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools; knowledge of industry software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create, engineer, and produce door and hardware specifications for commercial buildings.
- Recommend door and hardware solutions meeting design, security, aesthetics, and accessibility needs.
- Design electrified access control products and software concepts for door openings.
- Collaborate with Architectural Sales Reps to ensure timely, accurate project deliverables.
- Assist with submittal reviews and substitutions to maintain bid integrity; use Salesforce for tracking.
