Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Specification Writer to prepare technical door and hardware specifications for commercial buildings, working closely with design professionals to ensure code-compliant openings. You will use Openings Studio to boost workflow and partner with Architectural Sales Representatives to deliver on-time project deliverables.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of industry experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in CRM tools.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of industry-related experience with openings as a commercial locksmith, door frames/hardware installer, contractor’s license for installation, CHD project manager with school, healthcare, or institutional facilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is expected.
Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare technical door and hardware specification documents for commercial buildings.
Act as a trusted resource to design professionals on innovative, code-compliant door openings.
Leverage Openings Studio to enhance workflow and project management.
Collaborate with Architectural Sales Representatives to ensure timely deliverables.
Assist with submittal reviews and substitution approvals during bids.
Use Salesforce.com for customer relationship, project tracking, and time management.
