Job Titler: Specification Lighting Sales Representative

Reports To: Vice President Florida

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven and technically knowledgeable Specification Lighting Sales Representative to join our sales team. This role is responsible for driving demand and securing product specifications with architects, lighting designers, electrical engineers, and other specifying professionals. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of architectural and commercial lighting solutions and have a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships within the specification community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with lighting designers, architects, electrical engineers, and design-build contractors.
  • Promote company products and solutions to secure specifications on new construction and renovation projects.
  • Provide technical product support and lighting design guidance to clients and specifying professionals.
  • Conduct product presentations, lunch & learns, and CEU courses to educate the design community on company offerings.
  • Track project opportunities from conceptual design through construction using CRM tools.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and quoting teams to ensure timely and accurate proposals.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to strengthen market presence.
  • Stay current on industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies in architectural and commercial lighting.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5+ years of experience in lighting, electrical, or architectural product sales, preferably in a specification-focused role,
  • Strong knowledge of lighting products, controls, energy codes (e.g., Title 24, ASHRAE), and specification processes preferred but not required
  • Proven ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical plans/specifications preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and lighting calculation software (e.g., AGi32 or Visual) a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred, but not required
