Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Specification Consultant to provide door hardware specifications to the architectural community across Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota. You will edit master specs, review shop drawings, and guide product applications for projects from concept to completion.

The role emphasizes code compliance, collaboration with Architectural Services and sales teams, and mentoring others on electro-mechanical solutions, with a strong focus on delivering a positive customer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience preferred.
• CDT Credential preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions, including options spanning from mechanical access/egress control to total facility.
• Advanced understanding of electricity and electronic components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action.
• AHC Credential preferred.
• Ideal candidate will live within the Greater Minneapolis, MN market; but openness to candidates living in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Create hardware sets and specs, ensuring code compliance for new construction and aftermarket requests.
• Provide engineering solutions to architects for product applications.
• Participate in pre/post-install meetings; assist with revisions and access control coordination.
• Communicate project strategy and changes to Sales and Architectural Services teams.
• Mentor others on electro-mechanical products and access control software.
• Coordinate door hardware with access control, electrical needs, and specialty doors.
• Stay current on market data and competitors; adapt to changes.
• Utilize CRM and specification writing software.
