Allegion is seeking a Specification Consultant for Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota to deliver professional door hardware specifications to architects. You will create hardware sets, review shop drawings, and provide expert analysis on product applications for diverse markets.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) and extensive industry experience. Remote work is not specified; relocation within the region is possible with a strong background in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience preferred.
• CDT Credential preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions, including access control and total facility.
• Advanced understanding of electricity and electronic components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action.
• Ideal candidate lives in Greater Minneapolis market; open to MN/ND/SD.

Responsibilities

• Create technical hardware sets and specifications for the architectural community, including code compliance for new construction projects as well as aftermarket requests.
• Provide solutions to architects on product application requirements.
• Participate in pre and post installation meetings; assist with revisions, access control coordination, and RFIs during all project phases.
• Communicate strategic project information to Architectural Services Consultant to support sales strategy; maintain two-way communication with teams.
• Mentor others on electro-mechanical products and solutions including access control and software.
• Communicate door hardware coordination requirements and conflicts (e.g., access control, electrical needs).
• Work with Architectural Services Consultant to deliver a positive customer experience and meet project commitments.
• Maintain industry/product knowledge; adapt to market changes.
• Utilize CRM and Specification Writing software and collaboration tools.
• Maintain awareness of Allegion policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
