Job summary

Hanover Specialty Insurance is seeking an Underwriter to join a growing team in the United States. You will identify, solicit, and underwrite renewal Specialty accounts, applying advanced technical and analytical skills to provide risk solutions aligned with strategy.

The role requires experience with pricing components, CAT guidelines, and portfolio management to achieve profitable growth across lines of business. This is a full-time exempt position with leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years Underwriting experience.
• 3+ years driving agency relationships resulting in renewal business.
• Proficient in identifying, analyzing and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Identify, solicit, and underwrite renewal Specialty accounts to drive profitable growth.
• Apply advanced technical, sales and analytical skills for insurance solutions.
• Operate within Letter of Authority for underwriting decisions with limited direction.
• Manage portfolio to achieve gross written premium, profitability and mix targets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agencies for long-term growth.
• Train and share knowledge with team on underwriting best practices.
