Job summary

University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center is seeking a Specialty ROCC Coder III to perform abstracting and coding for IR/Vascular, Radiation Oncology accounts, using the 3M encoder and Epic system. The coder will work with physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures and will generate routine production reports.

Responsibilities include hospital and professional coding, query communication, and participating in PI projects to support operational needs.

Qualifications

• Completed a 12-month AHIMA approved coding certificate program.
• Ability to assign codes accurately using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code hospital and professional encounters.
• Communicate with physicians to obtain/clarify diagnoses or procedures via queries.
• Prepare and compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Participate in departmental PI projects and other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
