Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Specialty ROCC Coder III to perform abstracting and coding on IR/Vascular and Radiation Oncology accounts using ICD-10-CM and CPT. The role requires a minimum of two years in acute hospital coding and AHIMA-approved certificate, with strong communication skills.

You will interact with physicians for query clarification, generate production reports, and support departmental PI projects to improve coding accuracy and compliance within UCI Health.

Qualifications

• AHIMA-approved coding certificate program.
• Ability to assign codes accurately.
• Customer service skills.
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital coding experience.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Credentialed as ROCC, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code IR/Vascular or Radiation Oncology accounts using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Prepare and compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports; participate in PI projects.
