Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Cox Medical Center Branson in Branson, Missouri. This day-shift role supports pharmacists, handling medication prep, distribution, and inventory, with emphasis on hazardous compounding under supervision.

40 hours weekly, rotating weekends. Required: 1–2 years of related experience and pharmacy technician certification; Missouri board registration or within 90 days of hire; sterile and hazardous drug compounding CE programs are mandatory.

Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Must staff majority of time in a hazardous compounding role.

Education

• Required: Annual sterile compounding competency CE completed through current sterile compounding competency program.
• Required: Annual hazardous drug compounding competency CE completed through current sterile compounding competency within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

• Required: 1-2 years related experience

Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems such as excel, word, and power point

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician through a nationally accredited Pharmacy organization.
• Required: Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or application in process upon hire and obtained within 90 days of hire
