Job summary

Corewell Health Southfield is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist for the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program. This full-time position offers rotating day shifts (8:30–5:00 or 7:00–3:30) at the Southfield Center, with responsibilities across the department to ensure safe, effective pharmacotherapeutic care.

You will lead in your area, participate in training, and collaborate with other departments to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Preferred Pharmacy Technician license in Michigan Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate in designated areas within the site location under supervision.
• Interact with other departments and outside the pharmacy.
• Lead in area of specialty; participate in training of employees.
• Own assigned responsibilities and ensure quality of work.

About the Unit: Provides Pharmaceutical Care according to professional and departmental standards and statutory requirements. Provides safe, effective, rational, and cost-conscious pharmacotherapeutic recommendations through the department's medication management programs.

Scope of Work

• Under moderate direction and supervision, operate in designated areas or job functions within the site location.
• Functions relatively independently and has some decision-making responsibility.
• May interact with other departments and/or businesses outside of the pharmacy department.
• Enhanced knowledge/training of area assigned above and beyond a pharmacy technician.
• Participates in training of employees in the area of specialty.
• Opens a designated area of specialty or assigned responsibilities above and beyond technician duties.
• Assumes ownership and ensures quality and completeness of work assigned.
• Responsible for data collection and/or reporting related to assigned area/project.
• Serves as a role model and leader in the department.
• Escalates any concerns that are identified in their area of work through chain of command.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years of relevant experience in pharmacy.
• Preferred LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
