Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital seeks a part-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support the Dearborn unit. Role includes preparation, storage, distribution and dispensing of prescriptions, with rotation through IV admixture and unit-dose services, and potential rotation to OR and outpatient pharmacy.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will perform data entry and record-keeping to maintain safe, efficient operations. MI licensure paths considered on hire.

Qualifications

• Requirement: high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program.
• Licensure requirements for MI Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, store, distribute and dispense prescriptions under supervision.
• Rotate through IV admixture and unit dose service; possible OR and outpatient rotation.
• Perform data entry and record-keeping as required for operations.

Dearborn Inpatient Pharmacy - Part time, 20 hours per week, rotating shift

About the Unit

The pharmacy department at Dearborn is responsible for providing medication reliably and safely for our patients. We are a resource for medication information for providers, staff and patients. Pharmacy spans across the continuum of care, from outpatient to inpatient, ambulatory and specialty to critical care.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a variety of functions related to preparation, storage, distribution and dispensing of prescriptions. Within the Hospital, rotation through IV admixture and unit dose service is routine. Rotation to OR Pharmacy Services and Outpatient Pharmacy Services may be required. Performs data entry and other record keeping functions as determined to be necessary to the operations of the department.

Qualifications

• Required A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
