Job summary

CoxHealth in Branson, MO seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventories and patient records. The role operates under a registered pharmacist, with a focus on hazardous compounding.

Required are sterile and hazardous drug compounding competencies, a Pharmacy Technician certification, and Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Required: Annual sterile compounding competency CE.
• Required: Annual hazardous drug compounding competency CE within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Required: 1-2 years related experience.
• Must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician by a nationally accredited organization.
• Registered with Missouri State Board of Pharmacy or in process within 90 days of hire.

Job Description:

Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Must staff majority of time in a hazardous compounding role.

Education:

• Required: Annual sterile compounding competency CE completed through current sterile compounding competency program.
• Required: Annual hazardous drug compounding competency CE completed through current sterile compounding competency within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

• Required: 1-2 years related experience

Skills:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems such as excel, word, and power point

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Required: Must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician through a nationally accredited Pharmacy organization.
• Required: Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or application in process upon hire and obtained within 90 days of hire
