Job summary

Shieldshealthsolutions is seeking a hybrid Pharmacy Technician to provide exceptional care in specialty pharmacy management services. The ideal candidate needs to be a state-registered pharmacy technician with at least 2 years of experience and possess strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include ensuring medication adherence and effective communication with patients and service teams.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a national CPhT certification preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are key.

Hybrid schedule: 1-2 days remote per week

The Company is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter willing to take on a challenging career with a fast-growing company in specialty pharmacy management services. We are looking for experienced pharmacy technicians registered with the State of employment. A national CPhT certification is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate works independently, builds strong relationships with patients, clinicians and internal Shields staff, and focuses on high patient quality and service. Detail orientation, strong administrative/organization skills, and a professional, empathetic communication style are required.

Job Duties
  • Provide exemplary care to hospital patients through a full suite of custom medication management services
  • Work seamlessly with clinic team, serving patients face‑to‑face and over the phone
  • Educate prospective pharmacy patients about the benefits of hospital services and overall care
  • Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs
  • Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population
  • Ensure patients remain on track with medication regimens, perform outbound therapy and medication adherence check‑ups, and secure refill prescriptions
  • Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill reports, zero‑fill reports, monthly outstanding reports, and appointment lists
  • Help develop new processes to ensure smooth operations and patient care
  • Identify medications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous or refrigerated medications
  • Identify supplies necessary for selected medications such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, Band‑Aids
  • Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries
  • Perform refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision
  • Resolve insurance related issues, including prior authorizations (PAs), and assist patients with financial assistance forms
  • Ensure appropriate documentation in all required systems and tracking mechanisms
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
  • Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increase productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards
  • Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Act as a value‑added business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Continuously update knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and organizations
  • Willing to do whatever is necessary for the betterment of the Company

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
