Job summary

Care New England seeks a Specialty Pharmacy Technician-Liaison to work with specialty clinicians and staff to facilitate prior authorizations and connect patients with financial assistance, directing prescriptions to CNE Specialty Pharmacy when appropriate.

The role focuses on ensuring patients access specialized pharmacy services, coordinating with care teams, and maintaining accurate documentation across systems to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Pharmacy Technician experience: 1–3 years; 5+ years preferred.
• Rhode Island registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
• National certification (CPhT) within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy reimbursement (state, federal, commercial).
• Proficient with computer systems (EPIC, CoverMyMeds, McKesson; INMAR a plus).
• Ability to maintain record-keeping systems and analyze information.
• Strong judgment and verbal communication skills, including phone skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists for total quality patient care.
• Encourage specialty clinic patients to utilize pharmacy services.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to assist patients face-to-face or by phone.
• Educate patients about how CNE Specialty Pharmacy serves their care.
• Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription needs.
• Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population.
• Ensure adherence and track refill prescriptions; outbound therapy where needed.
• Identify supplies and special storage needs for medications; assist with process improvements.
