Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed as a registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern in the State of Texas.
• Three (3) years experience in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy.
• Two (2) years experience in insurance verification, benefits, and eligibility investigations.
• Demonstrated attention to detail in communications with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescriptions and process claims for new and refill prescriptions.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist or clinician.
• Perform insurance benefit investigations to determine current eligibility and coverage.
• Troubleshoot billing rejections and rebill claims with carriers.
• Submit prior authorization requests and follow-ups.
• Assist patients with forms of pharmacy financial assistance as needed.
• Schedule delivery of medications and provide customer service to patients.
• Maintain documentation in pharmacy systems and patient records.
• Coordinate with pharmacy team to ensure timely dispensing and reporting of errors.
