Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Specialty Pharmacy Program. The role involves entering prescriptions, adjudicating claims, handling prior authorizations, and coordinating financial assistance for patients.

Understanding of medical terminology, strong customer service, and experience in specialty pharmacy or PBMs are preferred. Reports to the Director of Specialty Pharmacy, with duties spanning interactions across pharmacy and medical office teams.

Qualificações

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern in the State of Texas.
• Experience/Knowledge/Skills: 5 years in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy; detail-oriented; able to multitask; cross-functional problem solving; knowledge of medical terminology; strong customer service; proficient with MS Office; good communication.

Responsabilidades

• Enter and process claims accurately for new/refill prescriptions, including resolving rejected claims.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and medical office staff to serve patients face-to-face and by phone.
• Review medical documentation from physician offices and other facilities.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist or clinician as appropriate.
• Assist with insurance issues, PA processes, and financial assistance for patients.
• Retrieve prescription and patient records as needed.
• Answer and triage inbound inquiries via phone.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Communicate with patients about medication awareness and report issues to the pharmacist.
• Maintain productivity and quality per management, participate in meetings and projects, and comply with HIPAA/HITECH.
