Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis, MO seeks a Specialty Account Coordinator I to coordinate patient accounts, verify insurance and benefits, and manage denials and collections.

You will assist patients in enrolling in drug copay cards and foundation programs, monitor services, and bill the applicable funds while adhering to oncology billing guidelines.

The role requires accuracy, strong communication with physicians, staff, patients and insurers, and may serve as Senior Pharmacy Technician when needed.

Qualifications

• Some college hours in Business, Finance and/or Accounting related courses preferred.
• Current State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• CPhT certification within six months of start.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient accounts, verify insurance and benefits.
• Manage denials and collections processes.
• Assist patients enrolling in drug copay cards and foundations.
• Monitor funding programs and bill applicable funds.
• Stay updated on pre-certification, medical necessity and claims submission rules.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurers.
• Serve as a resource to staff; act as Senior Pharmacy Technician when needed.
• Perform duties per Mercy Service Standards.
