Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to direct and assist patient access to specialty pharmacy by handling a high volume of incoming calls in a dedicated call center.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech license, 3–5 years of related experience, and proficiency with standard computer applications. Vaccination against influenza is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech license required.

• Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word, Excel.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner.
• Utilizes pharmacy software applications to schedule prescription refills and updates patients’ information.
• Informs patient of necessary preparation for prescription delivery.
• Records and forwards accurate messages to pharmacist, providers and staff; triages urgent requests.
• Acts as a liaison with medical center departments and external providers and directs calls accordingly.
