Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an In-Clinic Specialty Medication Access Coordinator to manage prior authorizations, insurance approvals, and financial assistance for complex therapies. You will serve as the on-site liaison between providers, patients, and pharmacy to optimize access and patient care.

The role requires MA Pharmacy Technician License, PTCB certification, PACs certification within six months, and at least 5 years in specialty pharmacy with prior authorization experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License and PTCB certification.
• PACs certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
• 5 years of related work experience in specialty pharmacy and pharmacy prior authorization.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and driving service adoption.
• Leadership or training experience within a pharmacy or medication access program is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serves as on-site subject matter expert for prior authorizations, reimbursement, and patient assistance for specialty therapies.
• Manages pharmacy and medical benefit authorizations and identifies formulary alternatives for timely approvals.
• Oversees insurance authorization and financial clearance for specialty medications and provides cost estimates.
• Coordinates patient enrollment in manufacturer or financial assistance programs to ensure affordability.
• Leads administration of the Employee Variable Co-Pay Program and collaborates with manufacturers, PBMs, and specialty pharmacies.
• Delivers high-level customer service and proactive communication to resolve access barriers.
