Job summary

La Montañita Food Cooperative in New Mexico is seeking a Specialty Lead Clerk to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain department cleanliness, safety and appeal. You will handle processing, packaging, labeling, stocking and merchandising of cheese, beer and wine, while ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines.

You will greet customers, respond to questions, manage inventory, coordinate daily tasks with the department team, and uphold all safety policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Strong customer service skills and communication abilities.
• Ability to teach others positively and constructively.
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain within 1 month.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to follow safety, regulatory and wellness guidelines including PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and provide information about specialty items to ensure satisfaction.
• Process, package, label, display, stock and inventory merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and appeal of the department and displays.
• Adhere to food safety guidelines and remove expired products from displays.
• Coordinate daily tasks with department team and supervise clerks as needed.
• Ensure accurate pricing, dating and labeling according to procedures.
