Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking an Account Manager for Specialty Gas in the Oakland area. This outside sales role focuses on growing specialty gas product adoption across Life Science, Energy, Chemical, Semiconductor, and related markets within the regional community.

You will support account managers, deliver technical guidance, and drive market expansion with a structured growth plan, leveraging Salesforce and Google Suite daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or related field is required; up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Strong understanding of customer business needs, market trends, and opportunities.
• Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficient PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, email) and familiarity with PC-based order entry systems.

Responsibilities

• Advance specialty gas sales within the regional community by identifying key growth markets (Life Science, Energy & Chemical, Semiconductor, Research Labs, Manufacturing, EV/Li battery and PV solar, Food & Beverage).
• Develop and execute a growth strategy; support account managers to expand the portfolio.
• Build collaborative partnerships with Account Managers, District Managers and other Specialists.
• Provide customers with technical support, engineering guidance, training, and service for all specialty gas needs.
• Collect market data on customer sales, trends, and competitor activities, and utilize sales literature to promote Airgas initiatives.
• Maintain proactive communications via Salesforce and Google Suite, and prepare customer contracts.
