Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Specialized Instruction Tutor to support K–5 students with disabilities in small groups to build foundational literacy and math skills.

The tutor works under the guidance of a Special Education Teacher, focusing on instruction, progress monitoring, and regular collaboration with other teachers and staff to tailor supports for each student.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; licensure in special education or related field preferred.
• Ability to relate to children, teachers, and other school staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in literacy and numeracy in small groups (six or fewer).
• Monitor progress and document student growth.
• Communicate progress with the Special Education Teacher and General Education Teacher.
• Work under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher to support K–5 students.

The Specialized Instruction Tutor works under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher to provide instruction in literacy and numeracy skills, monitoring progress, and communicating with the Special Education Teacher, and General Education Teacher.

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

• Bachelor's Degree required, Licensure in Special Education or a related field preferred.
• Ability to relate to children, teachers, and other school staff.
