Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an event staff member, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years working in specialized area of responsibility (backstage security, barricade/stage security, field/court security, Welcome Center, Ohio Stadium Tours)
• Experience managing others
• Ability to stand for 4 hours or more, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude at events at all times
• Ability to listen and satisfy guests
• Ability to maintain open communication with Event Management staff
• Interest in working with guests and staff of varying backgrounds
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem solving ability

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service to fans attending events
• Supervise staff within specialized area of operation
• Coordinate with outside entities (tour security/management, visiting teams)
• Schedule event staff for assigned athletic or special events
• Verify staff attendance and complete timesheets
• Attend annual Operations Meetings
• Participate in emergency drills or safety exercises
• Provide coaching and training to staff in your area
• Enforce policies in the Event Staff Pocket Guide/Manual
• Oversee ticket scanning and security checks
• Assist guests to their seats and amenities
• Direct guests to services outside the facility
• Enforce NCAA/Conference/University rules
• Be an advocate for OSU Athletics & Schottenstein Center
